It is written that one needs to be baptist by water and holy spirit, to enter the kingdom of God. The first baptism by water recorded in the bible was the baptism of John the baptist which is regarded as a baptism of repentance to the Jewish believers. The latter apostles practed a kind of baptism of Jesus Christ, which was for purification and rebirth into Jesus, by baptising in the name of the father, son and holyspirit.

Therefore, the baptism of John was by immersion cos a new norn child is without sin and don't need to repent from his/her old ways... But the baptism into Jesus is like a rebirth... So my question is... Must it be by immersion? The baptism given to an infact is it acceptable? Pls share your views

I personally believe in baptism by immersion. Even Jesus Himself was of age when He was baptized. Baptism is renunciation of the world and life in God. It symbolizes both death of the old self and birth of a new self in Christ. 2 Cor 5:17. Shalom

any form of water baptism other than immersion is pure fallacy, totally in opposition to what d bible says. You got it wrong, water baptism does not purify/ cleanse one's sins... It is only a symbolic depiction of being buried and raised with Christ as in the immersion. ...Only salvation/being born again does cleanses one's sins. Jesus was born without sin, he didn't need to be baptised, rather was baptised to set the example for others to follow... No where in the bible will you find baptism by sprinkling of water, or any baby/infant being baptised, it's deception/ignorance of man
