A man, the leader of all Christians in a country, appeared to be so ultra-passionate about his God-assigned task of evangelization, that he desired a private jet; I mean an expensive personal airplane to preach. Then his unidentified “friends” pulled their hard-earned or ill-gotten financial resources together to purchase this, and presented same to him as a “birthday present” to advance the work of God.

Fast forward, one year. The same private jet has now been found to bear an undeclared cash of 9.3 million USD and trapped in a foreign country as it’s now being used as a cash-ferrying (perhaps, more correctly, money laundering) means. What does this ‘man of God’ have to say about this? The same private jet was leased to a jet-leasing company and the preacher owner has no control over whomsoever the company subleases it to, or whatsoever they actually do with it; that’s to say, all that concerns him is the cash returns.
Has he suddenly ceased being a ‘very busy preacher’ who needed a private jet to preach? Or has he changed jobs? Was it a commercial jet they bought forhim? Who, in fact, ‘dashed’ him this expensive jet? This is a huge disgrace. This is an unforgivable affronton the Nigerian body of Christians; our reputations are at stake.

This is yet another challenge Nigeria, as a corruption-ridden entity, has to, in fact, must overcome. The owner of the private jet, the crew that manned the jet, and why not, the “friends” who acquired the jet gift in the first place, must be thoroughly investigated to get to the bottom of it.
The EFCC, the SSS, the police, the judiciary the National Assembly, and the Christian Association of Nigeria, whatever, whoever, must to do the needful. And, if they prefer tomake light this huge challenge, President Jonathan must use his good office to prevail on the relevant office[r]s to spring into action, as his ambition, his reputation and more importantly, the image of Nigeria are at stake here.
As a line of a creed I proudly profess goes, “government should be of laws rather than of men.’’ If itwere a poor man like me, I would have since been incarcerated. God forbid! Let he who deserves to face the law today, do so. Big man, or no big man, diz guys cannot jos continue to dey gbogbo cigar anyhow.
