Silkmoth33: Don't go about calling ppl aboki_. Especially if u don't know how to speak.don't even make the mistake of addressing a Jukun man from Taraba as Abøki, there are certain minority tribes in the North who distaste being called Abøki. |

snowprince07: ok boss YES, KANWA IS YOUNGER SISTER. ER UWA CAN ALSO REPLACE IT, BUT CAN ALSO BE USE IN A DIFF FORM. IF I SAY MY BROTHER, ITS EITHER U ARE MY BLOOD BROTHER, OR I USE IT AS A GENERAL TERM, LIKE MY COMRADE, AFRICAN BROTHER, NAIRALAND BROTHER, SO IS D CASE FOR ER'UWA AND DAN'UWA |

jacabi: africanapple, arewaqueen, paretomaster, jbluv55, silkmoth33 et al: inakwana! yaya da safeya?(I mean good morning! how was your night?)Rather you should say "Good morning! Hope you (all) woke up well?" = "Ina kwana! Ka/Ki/(Kun) tashi lafiya?" To which I will reply "I woke up well" = "Na tashi lafiya" Note that "Kun" = "You all" Do you understand? = Ka gane? 1 Like |

This whole debate about Abo.ki is a disgrace. Do you know that if you guys went to Niger republic where 85% of the population can speak Hausa either as a first or second language and you called them 'Abo.ki' they would be pleased. The word in Nigeria has a negative connotation due to some bigots transliterating the word inappropriately. In the Hausa language, the word will always mean 'friend'. 1 Like |
