Sallah in Sokoto is so intriguing... I have
travelled wide enough and celebrated Sallah in @
least all the geo political zones of Nigeria, but
with my experience in Sokoto I am convinced no
state can celebrate it better.

The pattern of Slaughtering is such that every family or compound stay in an open place around their premises and each father in the family has sets of rams, sheep, cow and each set consist of not less than 3 of such animals and @ least 2sets, meaning we expect about 10 rams from each father and if perhaps they are 5 fathers in a house you expect @ least 30 animal.

And these animals are sacrificed and prepared in front of audience and the preparation are in stages such that it is slaughtered, washed, hung and finally
roasted, hence the completion of this process is usually in the second day of the Eid depending on the population, hence, the meat consumed that day is mostly chicken and the kayan ciki (abnominal properties- towel, gizzard, liver, etc) of the animals fried in a tantalizing manner.

However on this occasion the normal rice eating jamboree in many celebration is absent its commonly meat, drinks and other foods, rice are served to visitors and eaten mostly the second day.

Other common features like the Hawan sarki popular in Arewa is more prestigious as well as other entertainment activities! Its all a different experience with the people of Sokoto, its being interesting!!! # Sokoto .

Can any state beat this?
