Prosperous Nigerian gossip blogger, Linda Ikeji has been sacked by its powerful host, Google.

The reason may not be far from what the blogger herself had opined about in the last hours of the existence of her blog on the domain.

Certain internet expert she referred as “net squatters” had alleged that she plagiarized their content without due acknowledgment. Being a serious ethical issue which Google or any organization frowns at, her host, blogger “”, owned by Google had reportedly written to her to clear the issue. Perhaps, it turned out, her defense may not have impressed the Google team, whose decision after their review of alleged plagiarism was to take down the blog.

From how she wrote her last few articles regarding the issue, Linda may have seen handwriting on the wall. As she said, she would be moving to a new “weird” (as she called it) domain name soon. Although she had initially expressed lack of interest in buying up a domain name, especially for reason of hackers, but threats inherent in developments with query by her host would mean she had to consider doing so, eventually.

In the interim, she has announced via her social media handles that she has moved to lindaikeji.mobi

Activities on the “.mobi” new address indicates she had been working behind the page to immediately restore once a possible removal is done by her domain host, Google .
