I really dont have much to say but It's human nature to want to tell people who are
in extremely sad, stressful situations what they
want to hear -- what they need to hear to feel a
little better at that moment. Lawyers have these
same inclinations. Some lawyers may also be
tempted to tell the accident victim what they
want to hear so that they'll hire that lawyer on
the spot. In my opinion, that's just wrong.
That's not the lawyer's job.
Accident victims like you need and deserve four
things from the lawyers you talk to about your
case:
1- You deserve to be able to tell your story
fully, slowly and without being constantly
interrupted.
2- You deserve to be able to ask every
question that's on your mind.
3- You deserve to get honest, accurate
answers to your questions - not just being told
what you want to hear.
4- You deserve time to think about it before
signing a contract committing yourself to hiring
that lawyer to handle your case.
Your decision on who you hire to represent you is
one of the most important decisions you'll make.
You and your lawyer will have to work as a team
to get the best outcome that can be obtained
under the facts of your case. In order to make
the right choice you need to know the facts, good
and bad. If all you're told is what you want to
hear, you're being set up for bitter disappointment
