I'll list a few reasons.

As a poster stated earlier, the influx of engineers into the system outweighs the demand, the reverse is the case for doctors.

Doctors deal with life. I know it's a cliche, but let me make my point.
Despite the number of engineers, many Nigerians would rather hire a
quack 'engineer', so as to cut costs.

But, as at today, the number of Nigerians who consult quack doctors is on the decline.

Due to No. 1), doctors have a lower risk of ending up unemployed. Although, the engineers that get very good jobs may be assured of higher pay.
