I have an interview tomorrow and the dress code is smart casuals.
My idea of smart casuals is a dressing in between corporate and casuals, but more casual than corporates. Pls someone should put me in the clear as I wouldn't want to go and mess up. Thanx

put a nice pant trousers with a nice long sleeve then put a sweat shirt on it and dont use a tie,let the last button of your shirt be and dont wear a formal footwear.

The term "smart casual" is interpreted differently in many workplaces. At most companies, however, the "smart casual" dress code is a step up from "business casual," but not as formal as "boardroom attire." It's neat and professional — but still informal.

Heathfield writes in an About.com article: "The smart casual look allows flexibility for personal taste in fashion and includes jackets, outfit-enhancing jewelry, dress pants, dress shirts, skirts, tailored sweaters, vests, ties, matching leather accessories, and leather pull on shoes and boots. Smart casual dressing is often adopted by employees who want to look ready for their next promotion."

A dress code of smart casual requires that you look smart but not overly formal. For men, 'formal' smart casual requires a jacket or blazer, flannels, needlecord trousers, or chinos (not jeans), a shirt with a collar, not a t-shirt, and smart shoes, not necessarily lace-ups, but not trainers or sandals.
