Technical Assistant – Investment Promotion
Role Summary

The Technical Assistant provides technical advice and operation support on investment promotion and related areas. In line with the objective of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, the jobholder is charged with developing and implementing programs and initiatives that project Nigeria as an ideal destination for investment, highlighting investment opportunities, targeting and attracting investors into the economy

Role Responsibilities

Technical Support & Advisory

Provide technical advice and support on Investment Promotion
Undertake research and analysis to generate insight to support strategy development, planning and decision making
Provide input in the development of image building and investment promotion materials and campaigns
Advice leadership on policy matters including fiscal measures designed to promote the investment opportunities in Nigeria
Develop and implement strategies, programs and initiatives to promote Nigeria as a desired investment destination and also build a positive awareness of the NIPC
Undertake research and information sourcing on companies for potential investors; provide investment advice, tactics and recommendations
Provide resourceful information on the local market, the regulatory environment and business opportunities to potential/targeted investors
Monitor the economic, political, regulatory and legal framework, gathering and analyzing information on developments or changes in policy issues that interest the company across sectors and industries
Carry out daily activities in terms of investment promotion, generation, facilitation, providing aftercare services and other hand-holding activities to investors
Project/Program Management

Manage image building and investment promotion projects/programs
Provide leadership and technical support on related projects and initiatives
Monitor and ensure effective implementation and achievement of predefined goals
Provide periodic updates and reports on the status of programs and related initiatives to the leadership team
Relationship Management

Build and nurture strategic relationships and partnerships in pursuit of the Commission’s mandate
Participate in internal and external meetings, conferences and events; represent the Executive Secretary if required
Facilitate stakeholder interactions including organizing meetings, seminars, workshops, and symposium e.g. The Nigeria Investment Summit
Organize Nigerians in Diaspora Conference to promote Nigeria as an ideal Investment location, and the NIPC’s activities and impact
Obtain feedback testimonials from existing investors and country presentations
Establish and maintain a network of qualified local contacts in the private and public sectors to assist or support potential investors
Skills and qualification

Sound knowledge of the Nigerian economy and the local business environment including regulations and trade policies
Sound knowledge of global investment trends
Business & financial acumen with international exposure
Strong organizational skills
Project management skills – financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management
Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentation
Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Networking, partnering and relationship management
Managerial and leadership Skills
Driven; result oriented; integrity and professionalism
Education/Experience Requirements

Minimum of a Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline
Minimum of 8 years relevant experience including trade and investment advisory, and coordination of promotion activities
