I checked olx.com to find a car to buy but the abysmally low prices I saw got me thinking.
A situation where one tries to sell a 2008 model of Toyota Rav 4 for only N200,000 is one that calls for suspicion in my opinion.
.
So I ask, can one buy a non-stolen 2008 model of Toyota Rav 4 for only N200,000 and take it home and drive for years without been harassed?

There are few genuine car deals on OLX but over 90% is fraudulent.

This is how they operate; they post the car with very low price to entice the victim. After negotiation, they Will promise to deliver the car to your house before payment. While on their way to your house, a problem Will come up That Will require You to send like 20k for settlement. The moment You send the cash, the deal ends.

I think the cash on delivery mode of Payment still remains the best payment option, and I will advise buyers please do not pay for an item you have not seen, tested or even inspected, a word is enough for the wise.

I completely disagree with that statement of yours. Until we shed this backwards thinking, Nigeria cannot hope to strive towards being an economic force. We re loosing so much money from this.

You simply cannot cheat a honest Man.

OP, simply do a calculation.

A 2008 Rav4 here in the US (where it most likely came from) is $9,200 (eBay), add shipping of $1,300 = $10, 500 which is N1,732,500 then add clearing, not sure who much is clearing but let's assume N500,000 so total is now N2,232,500

Why are you even considering looking at any add that lists one for N200,000?

I got my car on olx.
Run away from cars with ridiculous prices, narrow your search to the state you live so if you see a car of your choice posted in Lagos and the seller says he's in Kaduna.drop the call immediately often times its a scam.
Good luck.
