Isco Alarcón's recent performances for Real Madrid, like last
weekend's against Levante appear to have earned him a
chance to shine in the Champions League. The midfielder,
who started at the Ciutat de Valencia, was one of Real
Madrid's best players on the night, scoring Los Blancos' fifth
goal of the game.
Isco knows full well just how fierce competition is for places
at the Bernabeu, but he has always been one of Carlo
Ancelotti's preferred options. Bale's injury opens the door to
him starting against Barcelona in a game that the whole
world will be watching.
The 22-year-old has started three league games for Real
Madrid this season (Real Sociedad, Elche and Levante) and
has stood out for his assists, having set up his teammates for
four goals so far this campaign.
Another point in Isco's favour is the excellent partnership he
has struck up with James Rodríguez. The two of them showed
at the Ciutat de Valencia just how well they can play together.
Isco also tracks back to do his bit in defence and has racked
up more than 10km in every game he has played.
