I found this correlation rather interesting, what are your views? The more expensive the wedding, the shorter the marriage.

There are big weddings that last, there are economical weddings that last
There are big weddings that don't last, there are economical weddings that don't last.

Big weddings that don't last however, make GOOD news lipsrsealed

It is about probabilities and there is an actual research on this. Over 3,000 marriages in the US were surveyed.

Of course, there are successful marriages on both sides.

Since this is based in the US, It is likely that many with expensive weddings secured loans for it thereby putting the marriage under financial strain from the start.

People who can afford big weddings are people who have money. Rich people are more likely to divorce because they can afford it.
I think that it is not the wedding that has an impact on the success of the marriage but rather money, which makes divorce easier.

The more money we come across, the more ...

No one's interested in financially poor marriages that break down, unlike the big weddings.

The higher you go, the greater the fall (if it happens) = more publicity = more money in the media's coffers.

Financial pressure stresses most young marriages.

Not in all cases..

Some big weddings are "make believe"
and when the couples involved canno longer pretend,it comes crumbling.

Wether big or small wedding, what'll be,will be.

Nicely written, all-encompassing analysis.
Money drives easy divorce. The thought of "I really don't need you and can survive without you" makes it easy to let go.

Marriages between rich people or people of expensive and extravagant taste seem, or perhaps, tend to be built on less realistic expectations than marriages of meeker people of more humble means whose expectations are more realistic, and therefore more malleable and durable to the ups and downs of marriage .
