EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND
Nnaji was born in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeriabut grew up in Lagos, the fourth of eight children and was brought up in a middle class environment. Her father worked as an engineer and her mother as a nursery teacher.
She attended Methodist Girls College (Yaba, Lagos), before transferring into the University of Lagos. While at the university, she began auditioning for acting jobs amongst the many Nollywood projects
Genevieve studied at the University of Lagos, where she first attempted to venture into professional acting as an adult, by auditioning for acting roles available..
CAREER AND LIFE
Nnaji started her acting career as a child actress in the then popular television soap operaRipplesat the age of 8. [ 8 ]In 1998 at the age of 19 she was introduced into the growing Nigerian film industry with the movie "Most Wanted". [ 9 ]Her subsequent movies includeLast Party,Mark of the BeastandIjele.
In 2010 she starred in the award winning film Ijé: The Journey. Nnaji has starred in over 80 Nollywood movies. [ 10 ]Genevieve Nnaji is considered to be one of the best paid actresses in Nollywood. [ 11 ] [ 12 ]In 2004 she signed a recording contract withEKB Records, a Ghanaian record label, and released her debut album One Logologo Line, [ 13 ]a mix of R&B, Hip-Hopand Urban music.
Her name became a household name and her image the desire of every young girl. In 2002, she starred in the movie Sharon Stone (2002) (V), and her fame shot beyond the shores of Nigeria to the rest of Africa and several
