Does anyone care what is happening at the land borders? There should be stricter checks at those entry points at the borders. Just recently, someone was narrating how he spent an average of N2,500 (N2,000 on the Cameroonian side of the border and N3,000 when he crossed over to Nigerian side) on each of about 15 check points because he needed to come to Nigeria to do something important. I asked whether he was screened upon entry but he said No. They keep telling us the boarders are closed. While complete closure of the borders might not be practicable, let government minimize the entry points and move in testing equipments there for exigency purposes. One case is all a country needs to go down. Patrick Sawyer nearly did that to us. We might not be so lucky next time. God bless Nigeria. 1 Like |
