Hello everyone, I bake nice and tasty cakes using the local method (using a pot) as i dont have an oven yet.The cakes always come out nice except for the smokey smell they always have.How do i get rid of this smell,as it seems to be ruining my efforts. Help a sister pls,your advices needed. |

Use a bigger pan,and control ur stove very well. |

Ayo081: Pls a bigger pan(cake pan) or a bigger pot? I use different sizes of pans depending on the size of cake i want,i.e i use big pans for big cakes and vice versa. |

Make sure the cover of the pot is airtight. Always reduce your gas to minimum, use a bigger pot. I guess thats it. |

wash d pot very well...if dere is batter or oil spill over in d pot it ll smoke very well while baking... and make sure ur cake doesn't burn too... if u r using sand, change it from time to time. best of luck. |

it is probably from the sand u use. make sure u use clean sand. before u use the sand ,bake the sand first before u use it to bake but if u are not using sand then check ur source of heat e g stove,gas etc my observation is that when u use local method to bake,u always have an after taste. why not invest in a small oven to save ur business from all this issues |
