Remedies for Blood Taste in Mouth

*Reflect upon your oral hygiene. Do you brush twice a day? If not, then start doing it daily to get rid of the plaque and cavity build-up and follow it up with a mouthwash. It will also help if you rinse your mouth with a glass of water with one teaspoon of salt in it. Doing all this will help you prevent oral infections, thereby preventing problem of bleeding gums if any.
*How’s that stomach of yours holding up? And how does it behave for most of the time? The reason we are asking this is because a constipated stomach or gastric problems can also ruin the taste of mouth. Avoid excessive intake of junk food and adopt a diet full of vegetables, fruits, grains, etc. Also, increase the intake of food marinated in vinegar and consume citrus juices.
*Instead of using plates and bowls made of steel or other utensils, start using plastic or bone china crockery for eating your food. It may not be that much of an effective remedy but if none of the above causes seem to be the problem, then trying this may help in keeping that bloody taste off your mouth. Consult a doctor if the problem persists.
*If the person experiencing the bloody taste on a frequent basis is on any temporary medication, then he/she should wait for the prescription to be over. It should probably be because of that. If it doesn’t help, then that person should consult a doctor for further course of action.
*Cloves and cinnamons can also provide temporary relief from the problem of blood-like taste in the mouth. Each time after you eat or feel the taste put a clove or cinnamon in your mouth. Don’t chew it; just keep it in your mouth until the foul taste disappears. Cloves are also known to be useful in treating gum related problems.

Seek immediate medical help if:

*problem persists and results in any changes in texture or appearance of the tongue.
*you have recently come in contact with any unusual substances, chemicals, insecticides, environments, or hot and spicy food.
*you have developed any conditions such as fever, respiratory infections, nose or throat infections, etc.
The severity of any complication associated with the bloody taste can vary according to the underlying cause of the problem. To sum it up, it all comes down to recognizing the source of problem and mitigating it out of the system.
