Nigeria is supposedly the Giant Of Africa But It is a
pity that Nigeria is still yet to come up
with great technology and still dependA on other
countries for gadgets that can be produced
by Nigerians if the necessary infrastructure is
provided. Nigerians are unique, making
breakthroughs in almost
every walk of life but in technology there is a huge
setback, Here are some of the problems i think
that is drawing Nigeria back in technology.

.Nigerian Tech Websites Are Mainly Focused On
]How To Outsmart The Service Providers

In Nigeria, The only thing that Tech Website Owners
think about when it comes to technology is mostly
Free Browsing
,Cheats,Tweaks apart from few tutorials that are
helpful; while foreign sites are focused on bringing
educative tutorials like 'how-to do this' to their people
and help them be more creative. here's a comparison
between
the kind of things we see on Nigerian Sites and what
we see on Foreign Sites
[Nigeria] MTN CHEAT BLAZING FAST WITH N0.00
GLO BLAZING WITH N5 AND PROXYSERVER
ETISALAT 15GB CHEAT
AIRTEL BIS ROCKS ON ANDROID WITH IMEI
MTN MAGIC SIM ..FULL SPEED
[Foreign] Microsoft moves to create smartphones that
can control itself
How To Develop A simple Android Game
How To Make A Mobile Phone
Learn HTML5 with Ease
Simple Photoshop Tricks
Now any smart person can see that this is a very big
difference, and why this is a huge setback. site
owners should move to post more informative posts on
their sites
Although the service providers are partly to blame for
this with exorbitant data charges leaving subscribers
to start looking for solutions.

THE GOVERNMENT HARDLY HELPS THOSE WHO
ARE CREATIVE

The Nigerian Government hardly help those who
create certain things that would boost the country's
technological advancement, they are
mainly focused on matters that they feel are more
relevant forgetting that technology can turn the
whole economy around with the speed of light.
Foreign Countries come here and take our smart
students under the disguise of scholarship and due
to the fact that the government doesn't provide
or help these students , they gladly leave the country.
let the Nigerian Government offer an american kid
scholarship to study in nigeria and see what
happens.
We need to change.

that's true.. This is so because 95% of Nigerian are not thinking of innovation we are just chasing daily money everyday.. The 5% that thinking of how to get things done, none is willing and able to sponsor them (lack of financial) unrecognised people.. Even seems we don't believe in ourselves made. I could remember when sim card sold for 50k some years back and white people laughed at us for being ignorance.

tell me why the white guy won't be more creative tech wise, he sees a tutorial that says one should first download a file of maybe 22gb to change his phone from an ios to an Android, and he comfortably does it with a super fast unlimited bandwidth with stable power, with no fear of the download being unsuccessful. but the Nigeria guy, reads the tutorials, and looks at his data size and huge amount he paid to get it. then also the silly speed which isnt even up to 1mb per sec, he just hisses and looks for, HOW TO BROWSE FREE WITH TEMINAL EMULATOR ON ANDROID AND PC.

While the whites are thinking of how to improve the world, black(xpecially nigerians) ll be thinking of how to spend xcessively on luxury dat ll oppress their neighbours.lascivious.visionless and hedonistic attitude of most nigerian youths is gradually getting out of hand.the little ones dat got re innovative and ingenuous re either sitting idle at home or seeking for a favourable environment abroad, thus resulting to brain-drain.
A time is coming, where black ll totally be enslaved by white as a result of total dependence on white for technology......smh for nigerian youth.

The questions are :how many nigeria youth read a day or read to acquire knowledge?,how many of dem care to upgrade their knowlege after school or after work?.....the lack of creativity starts fro from elementary stage of learning. kids re being taught how to cram and recite without developing their creatives and thinking skills.this attitute is inculcated up the final stage of learning(tertiary stage).the brain is being programmed or coined to what we were taught without xpanding the scope of learning and discovering by thinking.what u see in nigeria education system is how to cut corners, the shortest means to get to d top.

Very informative thread. A big problem we have is poverty and the ogas at the top who ensure poverty remains so as to enslave the populace.

When all a man thinks of daily is how to feed himself to see the next day, all technological and self enlightenment pursuits take a backseat. Why bother to read a book if it can't teach you how to make fast money?

Its also in this line of thinking that "get rich quick" spam threads populate nairaland daily.
