Call it a season of good reviews for beer and you may not be wrong. Reason being that the once thought to be harmful beverage, is enjoying favourable commentaries from experts, who have said it can actually lead to better health for consumers.

A few research studies have said it can help protect against Alzheimer’s disease, while others suggests that it can help in weight reduction as well as help balance hormones.

Reports from other studies have also disclosed that beer contains all of the essential and many of the non-essential amino acids, as well as phosphorus, iodine, magnesium and potassium, regarded as building blocks for proteins.

A 2009 study by Tufts University in the United States as reported by the Daily Mail found that moderate beer consumption can protect bone mineral density. This is because it is said to contain calcium.

This has been rather gladdening to beer drinkers.

In Nigeria the excitement was recently ignited by experts who spoke at the Nigerian Beer and Health Symposium” hosted by the Nigerian Brewery.

It's all about marketing strategy. A man that deals in the sale of pigs will do everything possible to convince people to eat pork meat but we know the deleterious effect that comes with the consumption of pork. For me BEER in any quantity at all is not good for the body
