There's this arguement I saw in one thread about what to wear to a job interview. This thread can provide that answer uniquely or can't we?

Getting a job is not just about wearing nice dresses to the interview. You must be able to answer questions put to you eloquently and demonstrate your practical abilities satisfactorily.

Employers interview short-listed candidates to find out such candidates who are most suitable for the job in question and can really add value to the company by their service. Take the case of a Departmental Store Manager vacancy. Here, the employers would look for a candidate who has profound experience in selling fast moving consumer goods, managing people efficiently, improving bottom lines, understanding buyer moods and preferences, knowing accounting jobs and has overall managerial acumen. They would be interested to know from your past record whether you headed any Departmental Store and what has been the performance of the outlet during your regime.

So, if you are short-listed for an interview for this opening, to positively impress the Board, you must orient your career objectives, purposes, vision and past experience related responses in a manner that they amply demonstrate your capabilities, thoughts and expertise of being a successful Departmental Store Manager. Remember, if you have been a successful manager with a recreational center in the past, you must still talk about customer satisfaction, profitability, product diversification and employee motivation as your key strengths instead of maybe your higher-level understanding of recreational tools or appreciating human psyche

1. Do not wear outlandish dress like jeans, t-shirts, tights shorts, sneakers etc for an interview. Whatever may be the profile of the organization and its dress ethics, it’s always better to go there in your best formals. Make sure your dress is neat and tidy. As a must carry accessory, don’t forget the notebook and the pen for noting down important things.

2. Women may go in dark color conservative suit with matching blouse. The hairstyle must be simple and professional. You must avoid putting on a lot of jewelry. Use light hosiery, a gentle perfume and have your nails manicured. Do not forget to carry a portfolio or briefcase.
