Honestly, government should ban it for now in order not to send some people to early grave. Some would think it is boko haram, before they could come back to their senses their BP would have rised up.

Its a once in a year thing equivalent to hitting the club on fridays after a stressful work week. It carries the ambience of the festive season, same as blaring carols and boney-m tunes on stereos associated with the time of the year.

Those mistaking banger sounds for gunshots've clearly never heard a gunshot before. An untrained ear can discern accurately the difference between the two.

Enjoy the noise pollution as it would cease within a month and everthing goes back to normal.
