What's your own thoughts? I open this thread hoping to see the "Pros and cons".

It's time we switch to a Pan Africa currency. We are too divided anyway, the francophones African countries would be an hindrance to this dream(As they are the weaker nations). We haven't even form the so called "ECOWAS" currency after all these years.

Give your thoughts first.

A bad idea as would involve creating a balanced monetary value shared across implementing nations. Weak links would be financially weaker nations dragging strong ones down. Same reason strong nations in the EU refuse adopting the euro over their already strong currencies.

On the plus side it can force weaker nations to strengthen trade to try meet up to stronger nations.
