Christians Who Sin Are Hypocrites - Pastor Kumuyi by FKMagazine(m): 5:18pm On Dec 09, 2014
I was listening to Pastor Kumuyi's message in one of their parish beside my house, he talked excessively and condemned and rejected any excuses from any Christian that still indulge in any sin whatsoever. He believes all should have been purified once and for all, without any blemish again. My question is, can really live like dis here on earth? It is believed that we re working towards perfection as true Christians, bt is it by our righteousness? or by Christ's Righteousness, grace and power that we are saved and re cleanced or will be cleanced? Someone should pls rescue and clarify this.

I believe you just did a cherry picking of the message Pastor Kumuiyi preached. What about the context in which it was delivered? the target congregation?

There is no such thing as 100% perfection, this is a FALSE DOCTRINE.

Just look at the lives of deeper livers, riddled with hypocrisy, lack of love, harshness, judgemental behaviour, pride and boasting ( we are the best ) etc.

Yes, we are to move to perfection but as far as we are in this flesh, we are still prone to error or mistakes.

Do not listen to these hypocrites , they have destroyed many lives.

It is better for a pastor to preach righteousness, to preach that christians work towards perfection which pastor kumuyi emphasizes so much. Once attended a church where a pastor said fornication is not a sin. Which of the two churches would you prefer?

@ op, don't listen to enemies of christ and godliness who are on NL to deceive many. The apostle paul asked 'shall we continue is sin that grace may abound?' The answer is NO.

Any man born of woman who doesn't sin on a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly basis is not normal. undecided

of course and we should move on to perfection, but can you honestly say that in the last 48 hours you have not made ONE mistake ? If you say yes, then you are a hypocrite.

By the way, do you know that deeper life pride themselves in being a holy church, holier than most other churches ? In fact they boast about it quite a lot.

Is pride not a sin ? Is boasting not a sin ? Or is it by our own power or works that we overcome sin ?

smh at churchianity followers.

I believe a Christian should not purposely sin, but we can sometimes sin due to temptation.

No temptation is strong enough to cause a man to roast himself forever.

Those who "sin" don't really believe in the reality of hell fire, or God for that matter.

Do you have problem with deeperlife or the bible? Are you a christian or an atheist parading yourself a chritian on NL? Ok, which assembly\organization\church do you fellowship with?

How can I call myself a christian and at the same time fornicating, stealing, lying, cheating etc? You case (or your bad teachings) is getting irredeemable.

1Jn 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

This thread is just an exposure of the condition of the Church. It exposes the fact that the churches have not clearly understood what the gospel is all about.

1Jn. 3:5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
1Jn. 3:6 No-one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No-one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
1Jn. 3:7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
1Jn. 3:8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

Kumuyi's message is in line with with this extract from 1John 3. Jesus Christ appeared so that he might take away our sins. And Kumuyi is saying that the sins of every Christian should have been taken away by now; why then do Christians now wallow in sins and even say that it is impossible to be free from sin while living here on earth? Kumuyi's answer to the question is that Christians are just hypocritical. He is obviously right in saying that Christians ought to be holy, because the Bible says that anyone who does what is sinful definitely does not belong to Jesus Christ. But Kumuyi and other church leaders have not clearly understood how to achieve continual holiness that is unbroken by spots of sin.

How can a Christian continuously live spotless holy life? This question is extremely important because Eph 5:27 makes it clear that the people that will make the rapture are those that are spotlessly holy. A very popular doctrine today, even quoted by the OP, is that holiness is not achieved by our righteousness, but by Christ's Righteousness. This is usually interpreted to mean that a person's conducts do not really matter, as long as he accepts and confesses Jesus Christ as his Lord. Jesus Christ will substitute his own righteousness in place of the Christian's sinful conducts, thereby making the Christian to be holy (by grace). This doctrine is really so beautifully woven; but does it work? Unfortunately, Mt 7:21 rubbishes this doctrine.

Mt. 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

The reason Jesus Christ appeared is that he might take away our sins. He will take away your sins if you are really interested in that. He will destroy the devil's work (sin) in you if you are interested. God created man and gave him holiness on a platter of gold. Man threw the holiness away and accepted sin from Satan. In order to get holiness back, man must fight for it; no more platter of gold. Those who teach the doctrine that Christ's righteousness will be handed over to them on a platter of gold are just dreaming.

Ge. 2:9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground — trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The key to holiness can be seen in the Garden of God. The fruit of the tree of life makes a human being holy; whereas the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil makes a human being to be sinful. Through Adam, we all ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil and have continued to eat it till this day. The only way to recover holiness is by eating the fruit of the tree of life. Where do we get it? In the holy of holies, because God is the tree of life. It is only by the blood of Jesus Christ that a human being can enter the spiritual holy of holies. And only a priest of God can enter the holy of holies by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Ex. 40:12 “Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and wash them with water.
Ex. 40:13 Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so that he may serve me as priest.

Christian baptism in water is induction into the priesthood of God. After water baptism, the Christian should be dressed with sacred garments (holiness). Once a person becomes a priest of God through water baptism, the person can easily enter the spiritual holy of holies by pleading the blood of Jesus Christ during prayer. This will usher the person into the presence of God (the tree of life). The person will then ask God to give him the Holy Spirit (the fruit). The person should also pray that God strengthens him with power in the inner being through the Holy Spirit (Eph 3:17). Every time a person prays like this, he is anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power (Acts 10:38). The person can now put to death sins in his heart through the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:13). The person can easily uproot and tear down sinful habits from his life, destroy and overthrow sins from his life, and plant and build up righteousness in his heart (Je 1:10); all through the power of the Holy Spirit. The person does all these only through words of faith.

Ro. 1:17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, [Or is from faith to faith] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Hold your peace there! he did not say we should go on sinning. Read his posts again. You Pharisees are always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of truth.

Na everybody get their mouth, so them go talk, as they're entitled to their opinions and beliefs too. It's quite a pity many are living but don't know the essence of their living, some do buh aren't willing to walk the narrow path; the rest look for backups to suit their claims and mindset.

The Holy commandment from the Kings of kings still remains:
"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (Matthew 5:48)

The soul that sinneth shalt die; the wage of sin is death, for this purpose the son of man was made manifest, yet multitudes choose to be stiff-necked and live in sin.

A quick reminder; There would be no excuse on the last day whatsoever. Let them that have ear, let them hear
