The Yoruba name the pot after the coward biafran lord Ojukwu, it is related to his head, i mean his big head, so "agbari ojukwu" means "ojukwu big skull"

]THIS IS WHAT YORUBAS CALL AGBARI-OJUKWU.
It's a big flat basin (usually black) used for party cooking.

In a funny way, Ojukwu has/had a rounded forehead that shines the way the black basin shines when reflecting the sky (when the basin is washed or placed on the ground). It was suggestively introduced by the elderly women who knew Ojukwu when he was popularized in the news in those military days.
*it was not intended by the women to insult, just market women making fun* cheesy

pankere:
The big pot for cooking party food is called agbari ojukwu. It became popular for large outdoor cooking around the Nigerian civil war period and westerners jokingly agbari ojukwo (ojukwu's skull) to emphasize how big his head was and his defeat

This is tribalistically hilarious! grin

U mean agbari ojuku. That's d yoruba spelling. It is a big stainless-like pan used in large scale cooking e.g for parties.
Conversely, d spelling "agbari Ojukwu" means Ojukwu's skull. I dnt knw Ojukwu's appearance but I guess he has a bald head. Maybe dat's where they got dat name for d cooking material.
