Crude palm oil refining should pay attention to a value which is called DOBI, DOBI value as a quality parameter that evaluate the stand or fall of palm oil refining . DOBI > 3, refining capacity is good ;DOBI 2.4 ~ 2.4, the refining capacity is medium;DOBI < 2.3, refining capacity is poor.DOBI value refers to absorption peak ratio of the 446 nm to 269 nm .If the DOBI < 2, you need to consume the clay of more than 2.5%.
Crude palm oil degumming
Crude palm oil is generally not degumming processing alone, although phosphorus is low (usually less than 20 parts per million (PPM), but before bleaching,there is a good idea to add 0.05% phosphoric acid degumming, which helps to improve the stability of the refined oil and Fried resistance.
Specific ways is, before palm oil into bleaching tower, with a mixer, according to the flow of feed palm oil ,mix with certain proportion of phosphoric acid or citric acid, fully mixing into bleaching tower , if clay adsorption to degum alone is not enough.
Palm oil has the following features:
1. Palm oil contains more unsaturated fatty acid, good stability, not easy to occur the oxidation.
2. The palm oil contains rich vitamin A in the original (500-700 parts per million (PPM) and vitamin E (500-800 parts per million (PPM).
3. To determine the existence of palm oil can't use color reaction.Hydrogenated oil mixed with palm oil is difficult to use simple method to measure out.Palm oil or hydrogenated palm oil after moderate oxide will has light similar to the smell of violets, in the determination of stability or add speed oxidation test if to smell the violets smell is qualitatively palm oil exists.
According to the actual production experience, crude palm oil deodorization temperature generally is between 256-265 degrees, if too low, obstacle the FFA and decompose the colour and lustre, too high ,cost will increase and trans fatty .
