This is something that made me laugh but also think for a moment.

So we are all gathered for the festive season. One of my fathers favourite meals is a freshly slaughted chicken. So he sent someone to buy it and asked me to prepare it.

The problem is although i enjoy freshly slaughted chicken I have never killed it myself before and my mother wasnt there. I felt pity for it and the thought of killing a crying creature just doesnt sit well with me. Let us not forget all the blood!

My father got angry when i asked him to help n slaughter it. My feisty crazy 14 year old niece took the knife and killed the dam thing. I couldnt watch (I never do) but i prepared n ate it.

When my mother arrived back she asked me what kind of wife will you be if you cant even slaghter a chicken for the inlaws?

I asked her if its a must that a woman be able to kill animals
She said yes its just a skill you must have as a good wife.

Now my question is in this modern day and age is it really necessary? Does it really make me less of a wife if i cant kill a chicken to prepare it

How many women here know how to slaughter a chicken?

Mine is even worse, I don't have the guts to kill even snail, I have this feeling I'm forcefully taking its life for my selfish gain

hmmmm lol I knew Id have this problem. Well You love a wife and the wife must know how to slaughter a chicken (a according to my mother ) to be a good wife

wife+chicken slaughtering= good wife=love from husband and inlaws=Romance

Heaven knows the only animal I can successfully kill is Mosquitoe, the last time I tried to "massacre" a chicken, I told my husband I wouldn't cos the Chicken was begging me with its eyes not to kill it.

where I come from the men won't even allow you slaughter it, in laws or not. though my mum use to do it when there is no man in the house if not the men takes responsibility. wonder why I should bother myself about slaughtering chicken, if they depend on me that means nobody want to eat chicken o cos if I just seethe face I will pity it. lol
