I think tosinadeda is right.

Each section will have people that are really active and they will only be known by those that frequent that section.

We can have for each section and also have the over all.

The award should be done in each and varios Segment like - sports,romance,health,

because some member are vital and read topics in some segment (i.e HEALTH/AUTO) and bother going to the other segment (Romance) .

If Seun can coordinate it, we can have a across-the-board awards. We may start from TOP 3 in each section. Then the TOP 3 lists will be collated, with weights attached to 1st, 2nd and 3rd poditions. Some people will surely appear in TOP 3 of 3 to 4 different sections. Then the nominee with highest points will be declared NLder of the year. But this has to be coordinated officially(i.e by Seun and the Mods or an award committee set up officially).

Before you say we are taking this thing too serious, let me quickly add that it's just for fun. Of course, you can't write in your CV that you are awarded NLder of the year 2008 . . . lol

To me, DZ/RHC/EM is the most popular character in the Politics and Culture section.
Of course, Davidylan has it in the RELIGION section, while OLABOWALE appears to be a synonym for ISLAM FOR MUSLIM section
We must not forget the now-gone MC USMAN too. He also made Politics/Culture sections tick while he was here.
Upcoming Nairalander of the year(i.e relatively new lander that shot into prominence within short period of time) should go to MUZA or MAISUYA, I think.
But above all, MRCRACKLES is ever present in virtually all the threads.  He is not only widely-known, but also widely respected. He is bag of homour. He seems to have assumed a GODFATHER position in NL. I think he is the most deserving of Nairalander of the year.
