Every time you step on your car's brakes, you're wasting fuel. Why is that? Simple. Every time you use the brakes, you're wasting the "acceleration" you've already used. Instead of moving your car, that energy is being transformed into steaming hot brake pads. How do you use the brakes less? Anticipate. If you're at a traffic light, don't speed away when there's a good chance you'll have to stop again soon. Accelerate slowly, and then coast to the next light. If you see a need to stop up ahead, coast. Don't continue to accelerate and then brake at the last minute. If you anticipate your stops, you'll cut down on your wasteful acceleration, and save lots of fuel. Photo Credit: Google Images 3 Likes

How do u prove this? Do u brake and accelerate at the same time? Assumping you are coasting on high speed and the need to apply ur brakes arises do u stil accelerate or remove ur foot fro accelerator pedal..under this process instead of saving fuel how come the waste? pls prove ur theory. The moment u apply the brakes ur engine should be in idle position ..At feul economy rate, not wasting pls 1 Like |

godsamist: what is trying to say is this instead of applying the brakes to slow down, you just let the foot of the accelator and the car will low down especially at speeds thats are 40mph and above this about anticipating the flow of traffic especially the next car in front of you, things like the speed and gap between you and the next car |
