Fayemi, Oni To Receive Pensions As Fayose Signs 2015 Budget by Nobody: 9:16am On Jan 24, 2015
Former Governors Kayode Fayemi and his
predecessor, Segun Oni would benefit from
the new pension law brought into force by
Governor Ayodele Fayose.
This is coming as Fayose on Friday signed
the 2015 Appropriation Bill of N80.97bn
and three other bills into laws, promising
to fast-track development in all facets this
year.
The Governor had presented a budget of
N80.774 billion to the State House of
Assembly in December with the lawmakers
passing N80. 9 billion into law for the
2015 fiscal year.
On the grant of pension law, he noted that
the law was enacted to provide for the
grant of pensions to former governors and
their deputies saying former governor Oni
and others who had served the state in
such capacities were the target
beneficiaries.
"The law has restored full privileges and
benefits to all former governors and their
deputies".
The other bills include, Ekiti State Peace
Corps (Repeal) Law, Grant of Pensions
(Amendment) Law 2014 and Ekiti State
Change of Official Logo (Amendment)
2014.
Appending his signature to the bills,
Fayose said the 2015 budget focused
majorly on the civil servants, education,
health and the overall development of the
state.
He said the law establishing Peace Corps
initiated by the immediate past
administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi was
repealed because of the negative motives
behind its establishment.
According to him, "Peace Corps was only
carrying peace on the surface, the actual
reasons for its institution was evil".
Fayose who lamented that the huge debt
inherited from immediate past government
was slowing down his administration said
"we do not want to dwell on the
challenges but we want to forge ahead and
deliver on our electioneering promises the
people".
While urging the people of the state to
disregard the rumour making the rounds
that his government has received N22
billion from the federal government,
challenged whoever was making such claim
to disclosed the banks, the government
account and the time the money was paid.
Governor Fayose who called for the
understanding of the people, promised to
always pay salaries as and when due with
deductions going to the appropriate
quarters.
Earlier, the speaker of the state assembly,
Hon Dele Olugbemi said the house was
proud of the modest achievements of the
Governor.
According to him, "This administration is
only three months in office, yet it has
been able to deliver the dividends of
democracy to the good people of Ekiti
State".

Fayemi can now buy another luxurious bed since that's the only thing he is good at.
