Many students struggle to gain admission to Federal
Schools for many reasons which amongs them is the
fact that Federal Schools are lot more cheaper than
state owned institutions or private institutions.
That priviledge is what most students of the Federal
University of Petroleum Resources Effurun have
enjoyed, until recently when the school decided to cut
that priviledge short.


First they increased the acceptance fee of fresh
students from N10,000 to N30,000. This, I payed no
attention to because other federal schools pay more
than that for their acceptance fee.
Recent rumours has been going round about the
alleged increment of students fee from the normal
N26,400 to N50,000. While freshers are to pay N70,
000(excluding the N30,000 they paid for acceptance fee)
. This I feel is outragous and so uncalled for.


The speaker has called on all to take this issue upon
themselves to see to it that justice is served, hence
there would be a General students meeting tomorrow
(Friday 23rd january, 2015) to decide on the best line
of action to take, the meeting is to request our fees
structure from the school management before we go
on holidays. It is better for them to tell us to our face
what we are expected to pay, instead of them posting
it online while we are on holidays. He pleaded with all
students not to leave the schools premises after their
examinations.


I personally feel this is not a good way for the
Emakunu's Wind of Change led Government to round
up its administration. I hereby use this medium to
call on all relevant bodies to look into this issue
properly.
