You guys shouldn't even bother. The opening is for EU nationals who want to do the VIE program in Nigeria. Thats why your application reads "Unsuccessful" if you indicate that your country of citizenship is Nigeria (You could experiment otherwise by indicating you're from Germany for instance. It'd certainly go through). Hope that clears the confusion.
