someone told me that 3.0 is the threshold that is why i raise my cgpa from 2.8 to 2.97 in my last semester with a slip miss of 0.03 to enter 3.0 i just hope to be admitted directly for masters program right here in Nigeria

Yes you can.
What course do you want to pursue for MSc.? Is it a Science course or Engineering course?
All schools in Nigeria accept a second class lower degree for any full time or part time master degree programme.
It is when you are changing field of specialisation eg Chemistry to Chemical Engineering (science to engineering) you are required to hold an additional Post Graduate Diploma.
A simple hint: go to your school of interest post graduate school's website for prospectus and further clarification.
Hope the information comes in handy.
Wish you the very best!

Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta

Let me analyse both courses to the best of my ability and allow you make your decision.
Geophysics and in general geosciences are readily sort out in the oil and gas industry (that is the industry I am completely conversant with).
You can work in the the upstream companies, exploration and geotechnic companies or other support operations/firms.
You can decide to stay on your own and start your own firm ( after getting necessary industry experience of course)
You can also decide to further your education and be a lecturer.

Solar physics I am only aware you can obtaining grants or scholarship to do a doctorate outside the country or within the country or you can be a lecturer.
You can work in an electrical or solar systems company (quite a few springing up).
You can work in a research and development institute.

The choice is really yours and what your inner man feels.

Just a friendly suggestion, why dont you try applying for same courses in the University of Lagos? I am aware of a lot of companies that recruit graduants from convocation grounds and for geophysics you sef go know say you be hot cake.

All the best.

Please note that I am not the"final authority" in career counselling.
Just sharing the bit of knowledge I can.
For answers to your questions:
1. Research and Development, Food Industries and Chemical Industries, Oil Serving Companies, Waste Management Companies etc.
2. I would also advise you discuss with your part advisers/course advisers for "lucrative" masters options eg Hydrobiology and Fisheries,Environmental Management etc

I wish you the very best in your academic pursuits.

What is your say about a Mathematics graduate from either Unilag or Unibadan?
Thank you in anticipation of your response(s).
