Good morning, it's better to study another course, so companies or employers will know that you are versatile and also you will have more Job opportunities outside your first degree. I too studied mass comm, but I registered for political science for Msc in Unilag. There are other courses like marketing, pol science, MPA(this is a professional course, not an academic course), etc... You can check online at the University's postgraduate website for courses you can do as a mass comm graduate.

I studied mass comm too and am going for a professional course in Industrial and Labour Relations. You can study another course. Like Oghale said, for more job opportunities outside mass comm and make employers know u are versatile. You can stick with mass comm if u plan to go into academics.

Saw that. I was at d department yesterday and the receptionist I met said it's opened to any course so far the institution is recognized by unilag. Would love to knw if I should be bothered abt the specified two years working experience in the said course. With my 3years as an assistant lecturer, I think I should be eligible to apply for it.

You just hit the nail on the head. The combo is appealing. The only issue I just see ahead is the financial implication of Msc Finance at Unilag. I don't know much about the programme myself, but I see it involving less abstract math and Econometrics than pure Economics.

@U1 am also looking at it from d aspect dat.. Unilag shld have financial economics as specializaion nau. like petroleum economics or development economics. . am not sure. i dont knw if there are specialisation like dat at unilag. so I can do financial economics. aspect of finance too. pls Kalan is there specialisation in Economics dept?

I tink a postgraduate diploma cos HND isn't a bachelor's degree bt a diploma.

You need to do a one year PGD course before applying for Msc

sorry dear you are not qualified for both. Unilag does not accept HND for msc and pgd. only MBA i think.

You cant be running a course and want to re-apply in that same school, at least not Unilag, what i will advised is to get to the dept and asked that your program be deferred or you want to de-list from the dept, because of so and so reason.

that can be worked out. if not the school will think you are playing a fast one on them and when you are caught, you will lose both admission.
