ofcourse, one is not on a mission to get the audience discombobulated, but what especially makes a poem standout from other literary genre is the more connotative sense embedded in the writing or tone itself.
. So U̶̲̥̅̊ mean, after reading your poem, i should consult the dictionary or ask the google ƒσя certain interpretations øƒ the complex words you use...U̶̲̥̅̊ end up confusing me rather than convincing me.. That lil poem U̶̲̥̅̊ claim U̶̲̥̅̊ wrote down mins ago, didn't even minister anything to me. Just got me confused! Anyway, use words that are easy ƒσя the audience to decipher on there own. #NOHARM#

Bros u try abeg, just improve nd do more. D most important thing in a poem is to convey a meaning nd no matter it shud come from d heart and a litle bit from d head. Its creative nd it has meaning.. Lets stop using politics to castigate a brother, rather we shud encourage a nigerian.

This is my 1st poem ever, so it might not be perfect, but understand the message!

I WANT A DIVORCE!

¤ What significant thing have you achieved in our 16 years of marriage?
¤ Don't you know our union is already old enough for visible progress?
¤ Is it until our marriage gets to 1600 years before you become mature?
¤ Is it until all your mates get grandchildren before you man up?

¤ Every day and night, you share pain to everyone around you.
¤ Dose after Dose, Plate after Plate
¤ And you sleep so comfortable at night
¤ Jeez!! are you saTAN

¤ For the past 4 years, you've been boasting about your new farming skills,
¤ You promised the children and I, that we won't starve again
¤ But we keep on struggling to buy expensive food from our neighbours!
¤ Where are your farm produce? where are they?

¤ Jide, Musa and Chike have been at home more than they have been to school,
¤ It's either you don't pay their school fees,
¤ or you are fighting with their teachers
¤ While their younger cousin - Appiah, has graduated since!

¤ This is the 16th year since you promised me electricity,
¤ Yet, our children still use candles to read at night, we hardly watch TV!
¤ Sometimes I think it's impossible for electricity to be constant,
¤ But My younger brother - Mandela has constant electricity in his house!

¤ Boom Boom!! Pa Pa!! this has been the most popular song for 4 years now!
¤ Death dances to this music, and it forces everyone around to dance!
¤ Fathers, Mothers, brothers, sisters, crops and animals all destroyed!
¤ Is it until the children and I get destroyed before you act?

¤ Hey! stop staring at me like that!
¤ Okayy, we had some good times together,
¤ But can those good memories wash away the pains of your recklessness, irresponsibility and stark, daylight wickedness?
¤ Can it heal the injuries caused by your neglect, selfishness and constant torture?

¤ Henceforth, I - Mama Nigeria, say no to crying my eyes to sleep daily!
¤ I say no to playing the good, naive wife to a useless husband!
¤ I say no to staying under this rusty, leaking umbrella of yours!
¤ I want a Change! I'm getting a divorce!!!!!
. Awww this is touching!

That your Poem make sense.
very nice concept with good visualizations.
captures the moments and feeling with real life comparisons.
Hope u have ur PVC its more important than the Poem

I don't have! I registered in Kano last election, and my PVC was not found!
I'm in benin now (school) so I could not follow it up, and besides I will be in benin during the election period, so even if I had the PVC, I won't still be able to vote!

but I made it my duty to convince Atleast 2 people I know with PVC's to vote for buhari, and I've done that!

Yes I feel your pain
But at least, even if u want to divorce papa Nigeria, is it to go and marry the same man who murdered many of the children u had from ur previous marriages for unjust or cruel reasons?
The same cruel husband who beats and batters you for any little offence.
The same man who threatened to show u and ur (current) husband hell because u refused to marry him.
I thought he vowed never to ask for your hand in marriage again, you now want to run back to him because your husband is soft.
Lol, sure your husband might have no clue about what he's doing (clueless as u may describe it), but the man you want to go back to has a clue on what he wants to do and that is to enslave you as he has done before.
Excuse me, is it not the same man that killed your former hubby and jailed his friends just to have you and treat u d way he likes.
Errrr, if I may ask, did he care for your children when u wer married to him (by force)??
Lolz, I beg of you, for your dear sake, even if you want to divorce your current husband, don't go to someone who made u suffer in the past.

But d former hubby was an army man den now he is a bloody civilian like his wife, the former huuby at least knew dat stealin is still corruption, d former hubby is sorrounded by some trusted friends now, d former hubby has no corruption or embezlement charges proven against him, d former hubby who was seen as a religious bigot, has a pastor as his running mate, d former hubby has publicly declared his asset.
Bt dis present hubby does nt knw dat stealing is corruption, dis hubby also lost d confindence of a hubby hu introduced him to u, dis hubby could not try at least one gud case of corruption, dis hubby watched while our own children wia abducted, dis hubby is nt strong enof to protect u, dis hubby also promised to b marrid to u for only 4 years now dat u are seeking for a divorce, he is trying to force u to live wit him for anoda four years.. though u have about 13 suitors ryt now bt i bliv one of dem is worthy enof to b ur love again.
