His reasoning is that no religion preaches to kill those who don't agree with it. And that's a whole President of the USA who says Islamic State us twisting a peaceful religion.

In Islam a Muslim is allowed to lie as long as it advances the cause of islam. They call it taqqiya. According to Islam Muslims are the best of the people superior to infidels.
The Islamic State needs to bombed back to stone age. In their eschatological beliefs the town of Dabiq will be where muslims will defeat Rome crusaders .
If I was Obama I would gang up with Putin and China. Then drop leaflets warning everyone to leave Dabiq and Raqqa. Then carpet bomb both towns with white phosphorus and napalm . The IS would wither away pronto and like Hamas would call for a truce .
