Afe Babalola University Hikes Fees Of Medical Students From 1.7m to 2.6m by Jetix: 11:08pm On Feb 20, 2015 |
Hello. Okay Let's face it. There are many types of theft, you know. This is one of them. In an unbelievable move, the University management of the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) increased the school fees of the now clinical student, just about to begin their 400 leve from an already mindboggling 1.7million to a mind-exploding 2.6million Naira. The link to the location showing this information is below, and images showing more information are attached. http://abuad.edu.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/clinical_students_2014-2015.pdf Their fees were increased from over 900k which they had been paying originally, to over 1million and then to the heavily debatable 1.7million to the unbelievably outstanding and outlandish 2.6million, which it is unfairly set at, right this moment. There have been calls for justice and change by many of the ABUAD students, not just those in the 400 level but in 300, 200 and even the 100 levels, and even students from other departments. Linda Ikeji has published a post detailing this same thing at http://lindaikeji..com/2015/02/afe-babalola-university-students-cry.html A public outcry has been raised and I believe we shouldn't ignore this. It's not about being a private university. There should be humanity in every decision made. After all that happens this is the same school which goes to claim they are a "non-profit organization". Which kind non-profit?! Non-profit Fire! We need to be aware of the truth that is hidden in the veils of the clinical school. #Rally_The_Cry #Help_us #ABUAD #Fairness #ABUADEXORBITANTFEES 2 Likes

how much did Afe himself pay as a law undergraduate at "UI"? My brother is a victim of this daylight robbery with 400 level in view. Though, government is yet to accredit the school, but we mustn't compromise the fact that the school is SOUND. I wouldnt blame the school authority, I blame the parents who still went ahead with payments despite the hikes from 900,000 to 1.7M without mumbling. Believe me, they wanted adding 1M to make it 2.7M, but adding 900,000 to make it 2.6M makes the figure a bit appealing. this is unacceptable and mustn't be allowed to stay. Or do they think na only children of the rich dey attend the school? Na from pure water, pepper, rice, beans et al. gains we dey pay my brother's fee o. we no go gree o. 10 Likes 1 Share |

If you can afford to pay 1.6million naira then an extra 1million naira should not be a big deal na. Abi? By the way 350k for accommodation? That's like for 2years 2bedroom flat rent here in ikorodu. Shey ID card and course registration money is not supposed to be part of the tuition ni? Why 5k and 10k? 2 Likes 1 Share |
