Danny Lovato walked into an open field located at the back of his personal millitary headquarters. Five uniformed men stood at strategic places around the green pitched field, while, another five uniformed men were at the centre of the pitch. Three boys dressed in an all black attire sat on the ground.
"Welcome sir." The uniformed men saluted Danny who was flanked by two moftily dressed men and a uniformed man.
"What stage are you guys in?" Danny asked as he approached the men at the centre of the pitch.
"We are giving them the field orientation. At least, they should know the dos and don'ts of this exercise and the punishment for every offence." One of the uniformed men replied.
"Are they catching up? They should have completed the reflex and gun handling aspect, haven't they?" Danny asked as he pulled one of the boys up.
"Only one of them got it perfectly well. The other couldn't get the average mark in gun handling. But, this boy handled the gun like he has been handling since birth." The uniformed man replied.
"Stand up boy." Danny Lovato said firmly.
A young boy of about fourteen stood up, fair in complexion, chubby, but fit. He was spotting a low cut or a hairstyle known as 'punk.' Mere looking at him, Danny felt like he had met the boy somewhere or met someone who looked like him.
"What's your name?" Lovato asked.
"Chidi." The boy replied.
Danny Lovato gave him a searching look for roughly two minutes, as if to get all his bio by mere looking at him.
"Have you been to a millitary school before?" He asked.
"No sir, but..." He was saying, but he was cut short.
"Have you been to a millitary school before? No. Simple! Thats all I asked. The but is a violation of another rule around here. Understood?" Danny explained.
"Yes sir." The boy replied.
"Your name in full." Danny said.
"Chidi Paul-James." He replied.
At the mere mention of the name, Danny could feel a knot loose in his insides, while the uniformed men who heard the boy speak felt cold all over them.
"General Paul-James is your father or a relative?" Danny Lovato asked.
"He is my father." Chidi replied.
Now, Danny Lovato could put to rest, the thought that he had seen a face like Chidi's somewhere.
"General Paul-James is supposed to be the GOC Ipaja barracks." Danny said, as if to be sure.
"Yes sir." Chidi replied.
Danny Lovato stamped his leg angrily on the groun and pushed Chidi violently away from him.
"What do we do now?" One of the uniformed men asked.
"Continue with the training, I will speak to..." Danny was saying when his phone rang.

General Paul-James was inside the Ukrainian government house alongside six other millitary generals leading the United Nations peace keeping troop in all the continents. General Paul-James led the troop from Africa. Ukrainian president was seated alongside the Russian prime minister, the British Prime minister, the United Nations general secretary, the Secretary of state USA and other notable world leaders. They were on the day 3 of their peace mission to broker a deal between the Russian government and the Ukrainian government.
The United Nations secretary General who presided over the meeting announced a two hours recess, after the motion was raised by the British prime minister, and everyone agreed.
General John-Paul was standing at the balcony where he was making a call.
"Danny, listen to me. That boy is my boy, he is my joy, my only son. You can't induct him into your army, now way. If you want twenty school children to replace him, I'll get them for you, but my own son...." General John-Paul said.
"Listen to me Paul. There is a law, it is constituted, it can not be violated because of one small lad. Remember when Anthony's distant cousin fell into our trap, we used him. You played a bigger role despite Anthony pleading. Now imagine how Anthony will feel if he gets to know that Chidi is your son." Danny replied.
"You can't induct my son into your army. He is studying to become a medical doctor, not a terrorist."
"I don't bloody care." Lovato replied.
"Danny, remember, you are still being wanted in Russia. They know you are in Nigeria. But we are preventing them from breaking in. Danny, I could sell you out." General John-Paul threatened.
"I will gladly let the Russian government arrest me, provided the ICC will prosecute you too, afterall, you are a sponsor. You provide arms and amunitions." Lovato laughed.
"Don't start what you can't finish Danny."
"I am done with this already Pauly. My regards to Vladmir Putin over there." Danny Lovato laughed and with this, he hung up.
