You attended a wedding reception
and during the dancing session, the
new couple danced and danced until
they were tired and left the dancing
floor. You know the usual drill
during wedding receptions, as soon
as the couple left the scene, the
little crowd that had gathered
around them disappeared also. At
your little corner where you sat, you
felt the music from the DJ is
wasting because nobody is dancing
to it. You took the initiative, moved
to the floor that the couple
deserted some minutes ago and
started digging to the mixes from
the DJ. Suddenly, the crowd
responds to your dancing steps and
surged forward towards you. Before
long, the ground is covered with
some naira notes and even some
dollar bills. You beckoned on your
friend to help you out, he or she
picks the notes and neatly packs
them into the popular black nylon
bag. At the end f the music, you
returned to your seat waiting for
proceedings to be brought to an end.
Just moments after you returned on
your seat, you decide to know how
much you have been sprayed, on
counting it, boy, you have two
hundred and fifty thousand naira in your kitty. You
thank God for bringing you to the
party. However, on your way out of
the venue, the brothers of the
groom circle and corner to a side of
the premises and demand you return
the money people sprayed on you
claiming that their brother still has
bills to take care of. “Give us the
money they sprayed on you!” And
then, that awkward moment of
“what do you mean?”
