An energetic Business Development Manager is required to fill a vacant position in a well established Shipping Agency business based in Lagos (branches in Calabar, PHC Warri)

The Job Title: Business Development Manager - Shipping (Graduates preferably FEMALE)
Report to: MD/CEO
This is a challenging role but one with tremendous possibilities for future growth & development within the company.

Key Responsibilities-

• Pro-actively identify & develop new profitable opportunities,through existing and potential clients to generate increased revenue and market share.
Responsibilities/roles are:-
plan and carry out marketing activities to agreed sales target, budgets and timescales.
Managing quotes and closing deals effectively and efficiently to successfully convert into revenue
Responding to tenders and client requests in a timely manner
Create & maintain KPI's to measure the performance & profitability
Negotiating rates and service levels with customers
Study existing competitor solutions/carry out market research, competitor and customers survey.
Maintain a watch on industry developments
Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.
Establish and maintain a computerized customers and prospect database
Liaise and attend local and international meetings for purpose for networking
Requirements
• Degree essential - Business or Logistics related qualifications preferred
• Functional knowledge in either Shipping / Imports & Exports or Logistics
• Good interpersonal, negotiating skills, planning & Organizational skills
• Confidence and capability of independently meeting expected sales goals in the assigned territories
• Industry experience - minimum 2 years preferably
• Sales experience - minimum 2 years ideal
• Numerate skills - Superior English written & spoken and good understanding of budget
• High level communication & presentation skills
• Proactive, self-starter, solutions orientated individual
• Proficiency in Computer
