I wish they will hear. Once it's sex related, there will over a thousand comments and opinions.

The worst is when a graduate asks you how you got your job? 'so online application works?' etc..

No...Please don't rush into making that decision. Answer the following questions first:
What's your career aspiration? Is it flexible?
What level are you currently?
Are you enjoying Statistics?
Are you doing well in the course?

Cheers...

electrical/comp engineering, i aspire to work in a good organization as a computer engineer or be a contractor as an electrical engineer... I am practically very sound in both field.
still in my first year and so far d going has been good in statistics,i was tinking of changing course but i heard changing of course is a "wild goose chase" especially if u're planning to change to an engineering course....

Very resourceful, thanks for the piece but you forgot to mention that students should acquire financial literacy knowledge for it would help them know how to manage money effectively when they are out of school.

this is a tight one. If u cant cross over, then do very well in ur current course. blast it very well finish strong. And see hw numerous opportunities will come. But if u still want engine real bad, take jamb again and ace it with serious jacking. All in all we shud follow the OP's advice of beign serious in our academic pursuit.

I was enjoying dis write up until I came to having nice grade. Not everyone must necessarily graduate with a first class or 2.1 cos not everyone got the brains for it and some others really tried but could not make it and no matter what advice you give people are going to keep coming out with 2.2. the fact that u made a good grade and work in a big firm does not give u the right to write someone off from working in a big firm because he didn't make a 2.1 because you are not God and the destiny of a person does not belong to you. You people working in big firms should stop discouraging others with this your misleading write ups. So should I give up hope in life cos I couldn't make a 2.1? Am a proud 2.2 chemical engineering graduate not because I didn't study but the grades were not forth coming as I expected but I know my worth and my destiny won't be determined by the grades I graduated with. Instead of idolizing 2.1 and making it look like the guarantor of a bright future, encourage students to be the best they can be wherever they find themselves and in whatever they do cos not everybody will make 2.1 eventually. Thank you.

Lol!
Be sincere. If you have a child in the university, will you advise him/her to graduate with any grade since it does not matter. Won't you advise him to graduate well?
How has the OP belittled 2.2 grads?
So because you graduated with 2.2, you will advise your children to graduate with 2.2 too.
FYI, this advice is for students still studying in school, not graduates.

you are totally overreacting, the fact that op called 2.1 a good grade doesnt make your 2.2 or 3rd class bad, i for one have a 2.2, and i and doing averagely well with my job, some of my friends have 2.2 and are doing very well, as much as i have first class, 2.1, 2.2 and 3rd class friends who are doing fine, i also have those who are still at home with no sense of bearing at all. find your relevance in the society yourself, the write up is just to enlighten or encourage you. thanks. xfire, its been a while o. Nice write up. holusormi, pls dont quote me grin
