If you don't like his smoking habit you can only pray for him to stop and nothing u do or say can make him stop as he will only keep deceiving u in different ways...don't even try to separate him from his smoking friends cos they could share a lot of things together other than just smoking...it takes time to totally quit.I think its even better he doesn't do cigarettes but weed though sk is kind of chemical weed it doesn't do much harm like cigarettes...give him time all bad habits come to an end

@Op....would you be so concerned if it were cigarettes? Do you use pain killers? Do you know cigarettes and painkillers are addictive and weed is not? He smokes weed because he wants to....he can stop whenever he wants to with no setbacks. Not the same with cigarette smokers. On getting him off....it can't be by force. You need to reason certain points with him.....weed is medicinal and very good for a lot of issues....which one is he using it for? ...if it is for none...does he think it is good for someone to be popping panadol every day without having a need to? If his answer is yes he is either a fool or smoking bad weed and doesn't even know. Does he know because weed is not addictive dealers add stuff to make it addictive?....like dust it with crack cocaine?...embalming fluid?...other herbs?...that can even make him lose his mind? Dealers do this to make the buyer a loyal customer. This is the kind of info he needs to be fed. He would link some with his experiences and hopefully get off if it...if they haven't already spiked what he smokes and made him an addict.

Secondly, quitting anything is a personal decision. If he isn't ready, he wouldn't stop.

Finally, to alay your fears somewhat, weed isn't as bad as it is reputed to be. Currently, about two or three states in the U.S have legalized recreational marijuana with another 5 states soon to join in. In the not too distant future, weed would become legal. It indeed does carry some medicinal properties like aiding appetite and helps patients with glycoma.

Talk to him about it and chill.. Don't hound him on the matter otherwise he would just learn how to hide it better.
