Tecno
Phantom series arguable are good in terms of applications they have and what
they can do. However, buying one is waste of money and resource. Or better put,
it is akin to penny wise pounce foolish. It is the worst thing you can ever
think of doing - to knowingly haul your precious gold to the swine. It does not
worth it.

I was an ardent fan of Tecno that I preach and lure people into buying the
product without knowing that i was helping them waste their hard earned money.
I was on it until I learnt my bitter lesson. And I learnt it the hard way.
Thus, my bitter love for anything Tecno. Tecno is scam. Real scam.

Have you ever seen a producer who produces a product but never really care to
make provision for the servicing, repairs and accessories of the product ? If
you have not seen one, I have seen that in Tecno. I bought Tecno Phantom with
my hard earned money. I used it for a few months and the screen cracked. And
surprisingly, all the phone's functions came to an abrupt halt. I could not
believe it. At least, that was not the first time my phone's screen cracked. I
have Samsung Galaxy S4 and I have changed the screen once. It was funny to have
learnt that new lesson from Tecno. Moreover, I have friends that are using
other brands of phones ( from Apple to Nokia even Innjoo) with cracked or
broken screens that are still functionally. lol.

I toke my cracked Tecno Phantom to Carlcare in Opebi,Lagos . Their service
support unit only to be told that they don't have the parts to the phone. That
I have to wait till eternity for them to get the parts or better still I swap
the phone with a lesser phone P 5/ f5 since it is still under warranty. But I
insisted on a repair. Then they asked me to keep in contact pending when they
get the parts and accessories. Which I been doing for months now but to no
avail.

Thanks for that unfortunate incident of mine. For often times,
evil begets good. If that did not happen, I could not have known that Techno is
out to milk and dry us. Techno's interest in Nigeria and Africa as a whole is
anything but good. Be wary of them but should they put they house in order and
do the right thing. You can manage to them.

I am here just to pre-inform you and warm you of the inherent
dangers of patronizing Tecno and nothing else.

Sorry about your loss. But imagine if Tecno has no customer care center at all in Nigeria, the same way Injoo, Jiayu, HTC, Motorola and Apple didn't have. Then who would you direct your anger towards. Tecno is definitely not the best tech company in Nigeria, but they are not the worst either. They try in their own way. I have been using using Tecno phantom A plus for the past two years and I'm still enjoying it. Many Nigerians are also enjoying several tecno products without complaints or regrets. So your singular negative experience is not indicative that tecno is a bad company.

About the battery. I have no complaints. It's still working fine. I ensure I never use generator set power to charge it and I use original power bank and original blackberry charger . If I must use generator at all, I'll use it to charge my powerbank and later use powerbank to charge my phone. Even Samsung phone will deteriorate with time if it's not maintained.

About memory space. You're right. The 4gb ROM only allow about 1gb for apps. What I do to cope Is ensure that I only install useful apps and remove the ones I don't use regularly. Moreso, I rooted my device and through titanium backup I ensure almost all my apps are moved to SD card leaving more space available. Currently I have over 75 apps installed on it

Op, I suspect your story. Are you telling me that you dumped Samsung Galaxy S4 for tecno?
It may interest you to know that my old cracked tecno N3 is still working perfectly well since over two years it cracked.
Even though I'm not using tecno now, it's not the reason to rubbish the phone.

Or better still, partition your SD Card.

I did it with my 32gb memory card. Imagine having 15gb as internal memory!

My Asus Fonepad 7 feels like a brand new one.

Can you kindly shed more light on how to go about this partitioning, please.

If your device is rooted, go to play store and install BusyBox, Aparted and Link2sd. These are the apps you will use to partition it without PC. After installing them, go to this thread and follow the instructions carefully www.nairaland.com/1868976/how-partition-sd-card-android

N. B: Back up all your SD card contents before proceeding because your card will be formatted before the partitioning commences.
