Landlord, son arraigned for alleged killing

An Osogbo landlord, Raimi Ogunmiran, and his son, Kazeem, have been arraigned before an Osun State High Court, sitting in Osogbo, for allegedly killing a tenant, Mrs Adija Fatunbi.






The case, which commenced five years ago, was transferred from an Osogbo Magistrate's Court to a high court in Osogbo.

Ogunniran and Raimi allegedly fought with Fatunbi, who was pregnant, along with her husband, Tajudeen, on December 30, 2003, at 2, Okumabo street, Osogbo.

The husband of the deceased alleged that Ogunniran reportedly hit Fatunbi with the butt of a gun on the head. The woman died nine days after the incident.

When the case came up for hearing last Tuesday before Justice Jide Falola, state prosecution counsel, Mr Moses Faremi, moved an application to amend the one-count charge of murder levelled against the suspects.

Faremi sought to include indecent assault on the deceased in the new charge.

The application, which was not opposed by the defence counsel, Mr A. Lawal, was granted by Falola on the grounds that the prosecution has the rights to amend the charge and that the case has suffered so many adjournments.

To be fair here. How many times have you read any horrific story about osun and its people compared to other parts of the west or Nigeria?. The story is about a landlord in Osun state but there is no proof that he and his son are from osun. If you want to see real murderers among Yorubas, go northwards towards Ekiti.
