Yoruba mythology i grew up reading one of them standard english books

and i remember the story of sango's wives

osun and oya i think, who out of jealousy disliked eachother

leading to one of them chopping her own ears off to cook stew for sango

the story goes that they both vexed and turned into rivers

osun and oya

and that the battle still rages amongs those waters today

then we were told that if you put waters from both rivers into a glass cup, the said cup would break

and today someone was telling me that the okun(atlantic) and osa(lagoon)

are said not to mix either, funny considering the lagoon flows into the ocean

my question?

who can verify or debunk this claims

i am indeed puzzled

@ Ariblaze,

I think that the clue lies in the word "myth" i.e. it is almost (or just about) impossible to prove.
