Most people’s idea of a millionaire is a person who
makes a lot of money and lives in an extravagant
palace, but that is not the case with the twenty-one
year old Daniel Norris. He lives in a $10,000 1978
VW Westfalia camper van (named “Shaggy”) behind
a Walmart in Florida. No, this is not a joke nor he is
that eccentric, he simply likes the simple life.
Daniel shaves with an axe and cooks his meals on a
camp stove. As long as he is happy, then why not?
The Toronto Blue Jays picked this talented guy in
the second round of the 2011 MLB Draft, and
offered him a $2 million signing bonus. And two
million dollars is a lot of money for anyone, not
just a young guy. The famous ESPN The Magazine
described him as “the most interesting man in
baseball.” This guy shows the world that money
actually can’t change who you are if you stay true to
yourself. Even though he doesn’t have to worry
about his old days when comes to money, it is such
a pleasant surprise to see that not all people can be
spoiled by money.

Norris calls his van slash home Shaggy, as you are
guessing, he named it after the Scooby-Doo
character. But, besides his four wheels home he
throws a fastball exceeding 90 miles per hour.
Daniel is thea cornerstone of the Blue Jays’ future,
but people who don’t know that he is loaded, will
never guess that this kid makes a lot of money and
that he is so talented.
