Monday is proper Benin people name and the others are yorubas.

As for the fight, I have always advocated Yorubas be allowed to keep lagos as soon as we divide Nigeria.

Until then, Lagos is a no mans land, besides handing you lagos doesn't mean we hand u our property no way.

Ladipo is in Lagos, Ladipo is a Yoruba name

The owners of Lagos want to make their State better and demolishing illegal structures and shopping shanties is one of those ways

Ladipo needs to be demolished and reconstructed to world class standard

New shops would be reallocated by the Lagos state government in conjucction with the Oba of Lagos and Iyaloja upon presentation of a letter of good behavior from the head of your compound located anywhere in Yorubaland

SleekyP:
There was a bloody clash between Igbo traders and cemetery workers on Thursday and early today at Ladipo Market in Mushin, Lagos, western Nigeria, after the cemetery attendants formed a parallel executive and took over the leadership of the market.

P.M.NEWS gathered that many traders were wounded following the clash during which guns, machetes and axes were freely used before the police later brought the situation under control.

When our correspondent visited the market on Friday morning, the whole area was rowdy and some traders shut their shops and left the market.

Some police officers were deployed at strategic locations in the market to prevent further fracas.

It was not the first time the groups were fighting at the market. Last month, there was fighting and eight workers were arrested and charged before Ebutt Metta Magistrates’ court for causing mayhem in the market dominated by Igbo auto spare parts traders.

On Tuesday this week another fight broke out which left some traders injured before Thursday’s fighting which spilled over to today.

The fighting which paralysed commercial activities in the market was between the leadership of the market’s central body called Ladipo Auto Central Executive, LACEC and cemetery attendants led by Monday Lawrence.

Monday Lawrence, LACEC leader

Trouble started when some cemetery workers stormed the market with the aid of some military officers.

The workers started moving round the market and ringing bell to announce that the executive of the market has been dissolved and they were now in charge of the market.

When LACEC task force members attempted to stop them, fighting broke out.

Last month, they printed receipts and started collecting tolls from the traders which also resulted in fracas.

Eight members of the group were arrested by the police and charged before Ebutte Metta Magistrate’s court for the offence.

They were granted bail and are still facing trial for assaulting one of the task force members, Ndubusi Eme during the fracas.

Confirming the development, the president of LACEC, Comrade Kinsley Ogunor said the cemetery workers have been terrorising the traders, insisting that they must control the affairs of the market.

•A policeman on guard at Ladipo market, Lagos this morning

He said the market leadership had made several reports to the security agents including the Mushin Local Government Council which contracted the cemetery workers to call Monday and his group to order to no avail.

Ogunor explained that Lawrence came to the market to manage Mushin LGA cemetery located at Ladipo Street close to the market and was not a trader there.

He said Monday seized the opportunity to cause trouble and it appeared that some unseen hands were supporting him and his group.

He said “from the cemetery he started encroaching and now says he wants to take over the management of the market against the wish of the traders.”

Some of the traders who spoke to our reporter expressed fear that the crises might degenerate to serious crises that will affect the state. Effort to speak to Lawrence failed because his phones were switched off.

You guys are despicable and irritating as a tribe. Yoruba name was not mentioned in the whole write up but you all managed to chip Yoruba in by saying that Monday is an Igbo guy but rolls with Yoruba peeps.

This is what the problem is when it comes to Xenophobia. Immigrants ll push their hosts until their guests turned against them and fight until they get rid of you.

Sometimes I don't understand why guys should be discussing businesses with yolobas.

A yoloba business outlook goes thus.

1. Yoloba shops that sell kuli kuli have uniform securities opening doors to customers that come once in 5hrs.

2. A yolobawoman pays her shop rentage from the pocket of her hubby who prolly works in a bank or govt staff.

3. A yolobawoman will sell plastic on monday, biscuit on tuesday, agbo on wednesday, phone accessories on Thursday, okrika on friday while on saturday morning she will sell everything on her shop auction to go and bail her clothes in tailor which she will use to party on sunday.

4. Yolobamen will sell all the wares in their shop to host naming ceremony, two weeks later the church will announce that a brother have accommodation problem and need donation.

5. There can never be two yolobawomen selling similar items on the same street.

6. There can never be two yolobawomen selling similar things opposite each other in the same expressway.

7. Yoloba person can never give you change even if you bought N900 goods and gave her N1k, they will devote more energy and strength abusing and insulting you instead of looking for change.

8. That your a customer to a yolobawoman does not mean you can buy from others when she didn't have the item, your finished the day you patronized Iya Dotun across mainroad when Iya Sikiru don't have the item.

9. A yoloba will spend 9000hp of energy abusing and insulting you instead of .1hp to price a goods with you, to them you don't need to price the goods.

10. A yolobaman will start selling tiles the day he heard that that Emeka selling tiles bought a car.

11. A yolobaman will likely quit his job and borrow from bank to start importing electrical appliances the day he heard that Okoro the electronic dealer in the shop down the street bought a land at Ogun state.

12. A small shop selling cheap imported clothes , jewellries or wines own by a yolobawoman will likely have a secretary, a cleaner, two uniform security men on one door, an air conditioner, industrial generator powering the shop from sun up to sun down......but an average of four customers per week on peak period which two came to make inquiries.

Yolobass need business tutorials, businesses are not done without networking and internship but they will tell you igbos are doing bloodmoney, arm robberies and selling drugs.

Exactly. You are getting the point.

Trade fair, Alaba, Computer village.

Then we need to get STate Police or OPC to man the street in crime infested areas like Amuwo Odofin, Festac and Ajeromi Ifelodun

Anyone suspected for any reason would be interrogated and dealt with

Since you are proactive enough to know the rules you might not have a problem
