I mistakenly impregnated a girl. but just this morning some Jehovah's witnesses came to preach to me about end time, how some prophets fell through women and the consequence of formication. now I felt I don't want to continue with the girl because we not legally married, just boyfriend and girlfriend things. now what do I do with the girl and the pregnancy. needs matured advice from matured minds |

gabazin080: As one of JWs, we do understand and have seen cases where two persons who are not married live together. We tactfully let them see, when appropriate, the danger associated with their livestyle. I can remember an incident where one householder asked me if it was wrong to cohabit with a gal you have the intention to marry. His view is, 'since am going to marry her, what's wrong with living together before then?'. But the answer is still the same - the act is wrong, it is even a gross sin against God, and will ruin someone's prospect of eternal life if that person remain in that sin (1Cor. 6:9). But Jehovah is a merciful Father, He wants anyone in sin to repent. When we have that goal to change our attitudes, He will mercifully take us back. The simple formula is: Prov 28:13 The one covering over his transgressions will not succeed, But whoever confesses and abandons them will be shown mercy. This was in fact what happened in the case of the Corinthians whom apostle Paul wrote to. We read: "Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God’s Kingdom. 11 And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean; you have been sanctified; you have been declared righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God." Yes, those corinthians lived a rotten live before, but they were forgiven and washed clean. so you can! Now, will you drive the gal away 'cos you want to make changes? Though that decision might show how serious you are, but would that be kind? We have an experience of someone who had similar problem. Here is the story: "Marina relates the experience of Norberto. “He lived with several women before moving in with a woman who was a baker. She was some 35 years younger than he was and had a son whom Norberto adopted. As the boy grew up, Norberto wanted to be a better example for him. So when a Witness called at the bakery, offering free home Bible studies, Norberto accepted, even though he could not read and was already over 70 years old. When Norberto and his partner learned about Jehovah’s requirements, they got legally married and afterward were baptized. The boy has become a responsible Christian youth—just what his stepfather had hoped would happen. Norberto learned to read, and he has even given talks at congregation meetings. Despite being quite feeble because of his age, he is a zealous minister of the good news." It might be better to rush and get married to her. Court marriage maybe cheaper. From my own view, i think that will be kind than driving her away. It is essential you do it very fast no matter how small. Without marriage, couples living together are still fornicating, and we dont baptize such ones. |
