The Super Falcons forward made her first appearance for Spirit as they came from a goal down to defeat the Blue in NWSL match on Sunday morning
Nigeria striker Francisca Ordega made her debut for Washington Spirit 3-1 victory over FC Kansas City in a Week Two match of the United States National Women Super League on Sunday morning.
A brace from Christine Nairn and a goal from Crystal Dunn saw Washington Spirits came from a goal behind against Kansas City to secure their first victory of the season at the Maureen Hendricks Field in Boyds.
The Super Falcons star who turned free agent after seeing out her contract in Sweden signed for the American outfit in March, joined the Spirit last Sunday, April 12 after helping the national team book a place in the Brazaville 2015 All African Games with 9-1 aggregate win.
It was the visiting Blues who sneaked ahead with the earliest goal in the sixth minute through Heather O’Reilly, but the Spirit leveled three minutes later with Nairn.
Efforts by the visitors to regain the lead was stalled by the brilliant goalkeeping of World Cup-bound US shortlist Ashlyn Harris to keep the scoreline 1-1 at half time.
Spirited hosts resumed the second half as Dunn who stole the ball from Jen Buczkowski managed a one-two passes with Laura del Rio to get past the defence before Dunn netted her second of the day in the 46th minute to ahead.
Ordega who made her first appearance as a substitute in colours of Spirit in the 60th minute replacing Estefania Banini, impressively shone brightly for the hosts in attack as she was torn in the flessh of the Blues' backline with imposing strenght, pace and technical skill.
The final goal that broke the resilience of the visitors came in the 65th minute after Dunn from a free kick located Nairn who went to latch home the third to nick the maximum points for the Spirit.
After victory, Mark Parsons' ladies moved into sixth spot with three points from two games after opening day 2-0 defeat at Houston Dash, but three points behind leaders Portland Thorns FC.
