The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) with its mandate of transforming Nigeria into an IT driven economy for global competitiveness and the dire need to bridge the digital divide, has since 2010 established a scholarship scheme for Masters (MSc) and Doctorate (PhD) degrees in relevant areas of Information Technology (IT) obtainable in Nigeria or Foreign/Overseas universities.

Criteria

The Scholarship award is strictly based on merit and is equally distributed between the six geo-political zones for PhD and the 36 states and the FCT for MSc.

Duration

The Masters program will run for 1 year while the Doctorate program is expected to run for 3 years.

Eligibility

PhD : University lecturers with MSc in any Information Technology related field are eligible to apply for sponsorship.

MSc : All citizens of Nigeria with First Class or Second Class (Upper) Honours Bachelors degree (BSc) in Information Technology related field.

Application Deadline : 31st May, 2015.

it depends where you want to do the msc. if its in naija then u can apply, but as having your nysc cert is a strong criteria besides application is even closed already @ ademasta

The 2015 application for the NITDA postgraduate scholarship ended two weeks ago (1st of June 2015) and in no distant time the agency will shortlist for the test. While you wait for the shortlisting to be done, the information contained in this post is going to be invaluable if you really want to get this highly competitive scholarship. Yes I said ‘highly competitive’ because ast year over three thousands candidates sat for the exam and only 80 candidates were selected representing 2 candidates from each state and the FCT and 6 candidates for the PhD program.

However, this statistics is not to scare you but to motivate and spur you to prepare very well for the scholarship test. The test which is computer-based contains 100 questions. These 100 questions will be centered around the following areas: · Basic IT concepts and digital life style · Quantitative reasoning · Verbal reasoning · Current affairs · NITDA and IT regulation in Nigeria You will be required to answer the 100 questions in 60 minutes. You will not be allowed to enter the hall with a calculator but you can make use of the calculator inbuilt on the computer. The test will be conducted by CINFORES. They also conduct test for PTDF and NDDC postgraduate scholarship. The questions are not divided into Quantitative, verbal current affairs and IT as they are combined so you might have to be quick about it or else you might lose the opportunity of answering some easy questions ahead. Some of the questions asked last year include What is the Roman numeral of 1900? What does the acronym URL stand for? What does the acronym PPP stand for? What does the protocol FTP do?

However, to help you prepare very well for the exam we have made available these past questions to guide you as you prepare for this test.

I should nt b left in the dark. btw how can i check my status to knw if i have bin shortlisted or not. becos they are requestin for username and password in the log in page, but we were not given username jst the pin which ws generated. please can some one help with an aswer ASAP

i did. infact i still have my slip wit me.
u knw when u check on the nitda page, u would see login. where u would b given the option of password and username. lets assume the pin we generated is the password, then wat is the username. we were not given username. mayb am doing the wrong thing. btw someone sed they will send an email. i thought we were to log in to find out through their site
