Real Madrid are interested in
Chelsea's experienced midfielder Mikel.
The Nigerian international is widely expected to
leave the Blues this summer, with Southampton
among his many potential suitors.

Mikel, 28, has spent nine successful seasons
at Stamford Bridge. Winning countless
domestic honours and playing a pivotal role in
Chelsea's infamous Champions League victory
over Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid may be in pole position, but it's
still unknown whether Mourinho would be
willing to let the midfielder leave.

The Portuguese tactician is often heard praising the former Lyon star for his athleticism and tireless work ethic.

He recently said: "Mikel is Mikel. Mikel plays
today the same way he was playing when he
was 18.

"He plays today the same way he played like I
put him against Valencia in the quarter-final of
the (2007) Champions League."

mikel has been integral to Chelsea's decade of success. he probably has d best positional discipline in d world wat he must have picked up from makelele... I doubt mourinho wud let him go.
