We all poop. It’s one of the few reminders we get about our health on a (hopefully) daily basis and yet, we don’t pay much attention to it. Not only that, but we also don’t like to talk about it. In our culture, sometimes it’s easier to talk to people about sex than poop.

But the truth is: if you’re not pooping right… something could be terribly wrong inside your body.

Here’s a handy reference called the Bristol chart.

Type 1: Separate hard lumps, like little balls (hard to pass)

Type 2: Sausage-shaped, but lumpy

Type 3: Like a sausage but with cracks on its surface

Type 4: Like a sausage, banana or snake, smooth and soft-- This is the perfect poop, You wanna have nice tubular shape. Think long bananas that don’t break apart when you flush.

Type 5: Soft blobs with clear cut edges (passed easily)

Type 6: Fluffy pieces with ragged edges, a mushy stool

Type 7: Watery, no solid pieces. Entirely liquid

COLOUR OF POOP

1. A nice medium- to dark-brown color--Good Poop

2. Black colour-- it could be a sign of blood in your upper GI tract.

3. Yellow or Green colour-- could be from fat malabsorption or liver or gallbladder stress
